Summary of Tasks
Farming Generates Food at regular intervals. Maximum assigned workers determined by number of Fields in use (20 per Field). The number of workers assigned to Farming throughout the growing cycle determines Food yield. Growing cycle takes 120 days from planting to harvest. At Harvest, yields (1d6)x100 daily rations per assigned Farmer.
Hunting Generates Food at regular intervals. Slower Food yield than Farming, but without a limit on number of assigned workers and with a shorter 30 day cycle. Yields (2d4)x10 daily rations per assigned Hunter.
Mining Generates Stone and Ore at regular intervals. Maximum assigned workers determined by the size of the Miners' Union Hall. Operates on a 30 day cycle. Yields (2d4)x0.1 Tons of Stone and (1d3)x0.1 Tons of Ore per assigned Miner.
Crafting Medicine Expends Herbs to generate Medicine at regular intervals. Maximum assigned workers is 5 and can be increased by 20 for every Pharmacy built. Medicine is crafted on a 30 day cycle, and expends a quantity of Herbs equal to the quantity of Medicine produced (measured in days' supply). The formula for the amount of Medicine produced per assigned Chemist is:
Medicine (days) = (2d6) x 1,000 days / population
Researching Advances the progress of various research areas found on the Research page. An assigned Scientist can contribute 200 hours towards the research of their current project every 30 days. Only 1 non-player worker can be assigned as a scientist at a time; however, this number can be increased by certain research advancements.
Unassigned Workers not currently assigned to a community task. These workers are not necessarily unemployed; they may be performing tasks such as cooking, childcare, cleaning, and other basic maintenance tasks. This number also reflects the number of workers at any time which are temporarily unworking due to recovery, relaxation, or other reasons. Reducing this number can lead to a reduction in the town's health. In general, having approximately 1/5 of the working population unassigned will keep the town healthy. The effect of this value on town health is determined by the following formula, where U is the proportion of the working population which is unassigned as a decimal value, and H is the adjustment to current health as a percentage:
H = (40 x U) - (2d6)
